MacOSX, Finder and image dimensions
I've had a strange bug under MaxOSX: I could not have any information in the Finder about my files' metadata.
In the column mode for example, nothing appeared on the right panel, except the name, the type and the size of the file. When asking "More info" in the panel, I could only see a double dash "--".
I was really embarrased for my work because I really needed to know the dimensions of many images quickly. Opening a big monster like Photoshop and loading file after file the dimensions of each of them was not an option.
After a couple of hours looking online without any result and trying some things on the computer, I found out that the problem was coming from Spotlight's indexation that was desactivated. I can understand that the Finder tries to look in Spotlight's database the metadata of the files to be faster, but I cannot understand why it cannot look in the file by himself when Spotlight is not available.
Thanks Apple for those hours lost beacause of this silly thing.
